Day Two

Today was a busy day starting out going with Joseph to take the kids to school and getting to watch their assembly and meet their teachers.  The highlight of the morning came when the principle said how young I look.  And this was a morning with little makeup and no hair styling.  So she really did make me feel good!  Then is was off to the Lighthouse to take some photos of Sai's breakfast foods for her website.  Biscuits and sausage gravy, fried potatoes and chicken biscuits.  The great thing about that was we got to eat it once the pictures were done!  Yesterday when I met Onn, Sai's helper, I commented on what cute, comfortable shoes she was wearing.  This morning, she presented me with my own pair she bought for me yesterday afternoon.  I was overcome by her kindness and going out of her way to give me this gift.  And they are very comfortable.  I will have to take a picture to post later.

The next item on our agenda was to rush to the house to wrap the kids Christmas presents before they got home.  Last night, Curious George, Joshua was caught trying to explore the contents of my suitcase.  Imagine that!  We couldn't wrap gifts because of the possibility of being searched at customs, so we brought paper here to wrap.

Then it was off to pick up the kids. I cannot even begin to explain what an experience it is to ride with Joseph on the streets of Thailand,  there are cars packed in every lane, between the lanes and motor scooters in between the lanes and all around you.  Then there are the motor scooter vendors with their mobile carts loaded with their wares scrunching in wherever they can, all while everyone is driving on the wrong side of the road!  My undoing comes at the intersections where there are no stop signs or traffic signals.  And I am talking about four lane road intersections!  Everyone just goes through halter shelter whenever there is the minutest opening in whatever tiny space is available at the same time dozens of motorbikes are weaving by, around and in front of you.  And I am not
exaggerating.  I told Joseph I am going to mount the Go Pro on the truck and video it because no one will ever believe me.

Once we finally arrived home, it was time to decorate the Christmas tree.  Now, that was also an experience. I don't ever recall sweating while putting up the tree, but this year, I did.  The kids were so excited and it was great to get to share that with them.  Joseph grilled pork chops and Said made mashed potatoes, broccoli and carrots and fried okra.  It was all delicious.  The. It was time to pack for our trip to the mountains.  Tomorrow we will leave for Chaing Mai and to visit with Sai's parents. On the way, we will be stopping to see the sunflower fields in bloom.  I am excited to see what this adventure holds.

Today was such a busy day, I  didn't  get a chance to post any pictures, but I will try tomorrow evening when we get to the hotel. I pray all is well at home.  Continue to pray travel mercies on us as we take to the road tomorrow. Good night and God bless.

In his love,

Pam
