Uncle Michael is getting ready for his last season of football and Nana and Papa will go see him play in a couple of weeks. He made it through the storm Hanna without a problem. His power was out for a while, but he didn't have any damage.

As mothers, we are not usually separated from our children until they go to college, move out or get married. This is a forum to share the joys, triumphs and even struggles of being a mom who is now separated from her children for the first time since their births.

Yesteday was my first birthday, and we had a party tonight! I am 1 year old!!!! The party was great, and I got lots of presents and had good cake Atai (great grandma York) made me. They told me to eat it, but at first I wasn't sure what to do. Later, I caught on.
I took my first trip to the beach last week. At first I wasn't sure about all the sand, wind and water, but eventually I had fun. I went with my Mommy & Daddy, Apau (my Chinese Grandma), Great Grandma & Grandpa York, Uncle Brian, Aunt Debby and cousin Ros. We found lots of shells and made sand castles.
As you can see, my Aunt Becky has been taking more pictures of me. Visit her website via the link on my page and see the great work she's been doing. I think I'm her best model, and so does Nana.
Daddy got an award at work for catching some bad guys who were breaking into people's cars. We are all very proud of him. Every time Nana hears something on the news about an Atlanta Police officer in his zone, she calls to make sure he's OK. Nana loves her boys very much, and now she loves me very much too.
I'll be sure we put new pictures up next week from the wedding. Keep in touch and God bless you all!
Then, my mommy and my great grandma, Wanda, took me to Thailand to meet my mommy's family. Now that was something. My Nana cried when I left because she was going to miss me so much. I think my daddy cried too, because he couldn't go. He's still working with the Atlanta police and is really doing good. I loved seeing my mommy's family, meeting my aunts and uncle and grandma and grandpa. My grandpa carried me in a carrier on his back all around the village meeting all his friends. He didn't want to let me go because he loves me so much! I call my great grandma Wanda, Atai, (Chinese for father's grandmother). Anyway, Atai got sick because she drank some fresh orange juice the children in the village made for her. She had to go to the hospital for a few days, but the doctor gave her medicine and she got all better. My daddy surprised us and came for a visit while we were there. I thought my mommy was going to faint!

My daddy took us to our first Brave's game. My mommy and both my grandma's went with us! I didn't like the loud noise at first, but then I got used to it. There was so much going on, I have never seen so many people and heard so much noise. My Nana really like the game alot, she yelled once and made me cry. I thought something was wrong with her! But then she held me and told me it was ok, so I laughed!
